You cannot be too stringent and focus on unimportant terms as your client and the other parties to the deal will be frustrated as you are not a ‘deal lawyer’. Likewise, blindly agreeing to everything is poor advocacy for your client and will provide even more frustration for the client if the important points of the purchase agreement are not properly addressed. This presentation will help attorneys of all levels identify, term by term, the important points of a commercial real estate contract.
