Understand erosion control, soil erosion and sediment control and why it's important and regulated.
This topic will review the basic understanding of erosion control, soil erosion and sediment control and why it is important and regulated on a national level by Federal, State and Local agencies. You will learn about design and proper installation of sediment controls, runoff controls and other Best Management Practices used in construction. Keys to effective soil erosion and sediment control include communication and coordination among all those involved including agencies, stakeholders, contractors, sub-contractors, and utilities. Important missing components of the installation and maintenance of these BMPs that can result in compliance issues will be discussed and clarified.
