Learn how to approach microaggressions, address them, and move forward through awareness.
In today's increasingly diverse workforce, it is imperative to appropriately train employees to eliminate prejudice and discrimination. The self-perception trap is one of the biggest challenges leaders face. Many leaders are less inclusive than they think they are. You will learn numerous effective interventions to promote the culture of eliminating unconscious bias, which, in turn, leads to microaggressions. Learn to identify microaggressions and how to help develop behaviors that don't demonstrate bias. Learn numerous effective interventions to promote behaviors that contribute to an environment where we are actively engaged in efforts to value all points of view and walks of life with the end goal of a diverse workforce, an inclusive attitude free of prejudices and biases examined. Utilize exercises and examples to understand the three forms of microaggressions: microassaults, microinsults, and microinvalidations. Discuss the Implicit Association Test (IAT) and how to develop intervention methods designed for the current climate to meet the needs for a higher level of accountability. This topic educates on the concept of unconscious bias, helping everyone understand and recognize their own unconscious biases toward others and how those manifest into microaggressions, which demean and dismiss others. This program also provides suggested behaviors and actions to mitigate behaviors of microaggression.
