Learn key strategies to navigate unusual pay situations, from remote work challenges to overtime calculations and pay transparency.
It is important to take the time to learn and understand several unusual pay situations and how to overcome the compensation issues that arise. As we have seen the remote and hybrid work positions grow, there have been changes to the way employees are compensated. The changes may come from the demands of the employees or the employer wanting to be more employee-friendly to get employees back into the office space. Whatever the reason, there are compensation challenges that need to be addressed. This webinar will address some of the strategies behind the compensation issues. There are also times when an employee has unique skills and expertise that a company needs and wants, but there is no job description fit for such skills so the company must develop a strategy to overcome this and the difficulty of compensating that type of individual. There may also be issues with calculating overtime for those employees that work different jobs that are paid different rates. This webinar will also examine how to calculate overtime for blended rates properly. Another common issue that arises is the issue of pay transparency. This webinar will address how to manage those employees that may be over the maximum range of pay for a position while others are under the midpoint. We will examine strategies for addressing these atypical pay situations and the legal implications if they are not appropriately resolved.
Learning Objectives
- You will be able to explain blended rates and how overtime for such is calculated.
- You will be able to identify pay compression and how to address it and fix it along with the legal problems if not addressed.
- You will be able to discuss pay transparency and the strategies for compensation correction.
- You will be able to recognize how to overcome several unusual pay situations.
