Learn the techniques to keep your buildings quiet and reduce noise complaints.
Multifamily residence facilities present a variety of acoustical issues to successfully address. These issues include the location where the project is sited, sound and impact isolation between adjacent residences and noise and vibration control of building systems (HVAC, elevators, electrical equipment, plumbing, etc.). The mitigation of these concerns needs to fit the developer's budget for the project, while providing the residents appropriate acoustical conditions. This topic is intended to help you identify the acoustical issues, develop architectural designs for reducing internal and external acoustical issues, and mitigate noise and vibration from building systems. The program will cover the topics, presenting the acoustical requirements and typical acoustical objectives, concerns with various acoustical elements, acoustical upgrades for demising constructions and methods for mitigating the noise and vibration of building systems. Case studies will be worked into the presentation to highlight specific acoustical challenges that these projects face.
