Protections Expanded for Transgender, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming Workers
Improved protections for New York transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming employees were put in place following the enactment of the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act in February 2019. Compelling changes to the New York City Human Rights Law will also expand the scope of forbidden discriminatory behavior. This white paper reviews the NYCHRL rules changes and provides examples of what is considered discriminatory conduct.
