New Proposed Anti-Harassment Guidance Addresses Many Issues

The EEOC sets out to define what constitutes harassment.

EEOC guidance doesn’t have the force of law. But it is still valuable as it serves as a reference for EEOC investigators and other federal agencies that deal with harassment through enforcement investigations, litigation, or outreach. While the proposed guidance will update the 1990 EEOC Guidance, which addressed only sexual harassment, the new proposed guidance will deal with all categories of harassment: sex (including LGBT discrimination), religion, age, national origin, disability, and genetic information.
