General “Dos and Don’ts” for Trustees of Typical Trusts

 
This writer has provided the following lists (as general guidance) to layperson clients who have accepted appointment as trustees or private trusts. The following numbered points are general enough that they are likely to apply to the vast majority of trusts, unless the trust instrument contains fairly unusual provisions, or unless a court order specifically allows or directs the trustee to act otherwise.
