Who can request information?
The U. S. Freedom of Information Act and the Freedom of Information Acts of most States do not differentiate among individual requesters concerning their right to request information. Generally, “any person,” can request information and has the same right to that information as any other person. This white paper reviews who can request information and who may be an exception, what information can be requested, and the timing and form of the requests.
