Who Is a Protected Whistleblower?
When it comes to whistleblowers, almost anyone can be protected. Employees, contractors, and employees of contractors all may qualify as whistleblowers for various purposes under federal and/or state laws. In some cases, compliance personnel, audit personnel, and attorneys can be whistleblowers. Private citizens can be whistleblowers too under the FCA. This video reviews who is a protected whistleblower, sources of whistleblower protections, and what conduct is protected.
