Types of Nexus

In our current economy, states continue to push limits on nexus and are going well beyond traditional concepts of nexus. In this 11-minute video, John P. Barrie discusses nexus from the perspective of several different states in order to offer an overview of what significant nexus cases are currently out there around the country, how these states are handling some of the issues, and what you can expect and see the difference from state to state. He also reviews due process nexus and commerce clause nexus. Mr. Barrie describes the “four prongs” of tax musts.

John P. Barrie is a partner in the Washington and New York offices of Bryan Cave LLP. His practice focuses solely in the areas of federal and state tax controversy and transactional matters.
