Is the process of “blessing the concrete” causing problems instead of helping?
When finishing concrete, it is common to see a worker take a brush and a bucket of water and sprinkle water on the concrete slab and work the water into the surface to help finish it. While this “blessing of the concrete” may be a common occurrence, when that is done, that worker has just ruined that concrete, they have weakened the surface, weakened the strength of it, and that surface is now more susceptible to many of the damages that contractors try to avoid. This video reviews slab surface defects including dusting, scaling and cracking, among others; and discusses how to repair those defects when they occur.
