Be prepared to document change orders.
There are traditional contract administration documents that are used to track changes in construction projects. Construction-industry lawyers look at these documents as the only way to handle these changes and the “old-timers” in the industry lament over the good old days of administering contracts with a handshake and word of both parties. Today, that process is simply unacceptable in the legal environment. If the issue is not addressed in writing, it did not occur. This video reviews the importance of documentation in change orders and discusses contract requirements.
