The Making of Financial Statements - Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement

There are three steps in the making of financial statements. First, separate business entities engage in business transactions. Second, transactions are transformed through an accounting process into financial statements. And third, financial statements tell us the financial health of the company. There are six different types of business transactions and our speaker believes that any transaction that a company engages itself in will fit into one of these categories: invest funds into the business; borrow funds for investment and operations; buy goods and services from others, usually on credit; pay for goods and services; sell products and services to others, usually on credit; collect for goods and services provided.

In this 19-minute video our speaker, Carl L. Young, MBA, also reviews details of a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.

Carl L. Young, MBA is Mr. Simplicity. He is an author, and former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a $275M high growth company; a business owner (CEO) of C Young Consulting LLC; a consultant; a business coach; a passionate, and entertaining speaker and trainer; a scholar in the Gersen Lehrman Council of Experts; and a member of the Standard and Poors Society of Industry Leaders.
