Return-to-Work - Unexpected Illnesses and Disabilities; Designation of Leave

 
What should you consider whenever you have an employee that has an unexpected illness or disability? A lot of specialists are going to have a hard time coming up with something quick. Some of these situations you can do in a proactive way so that before someone gets sick, or a disability, you have already planned ahead. Some of the matters you can plan ahead for are equipment, job assessments, cross training and retrain employees, and keep your policies flexible, among others.

Our speaker, Patrick J. Platter, also reviews how employers should designate leave under FMLA and how the leave counts against the annual entitlement. He also discusses requirements for medical certification and right to job reinstatement.
