The granting clause is generally speaking, the first substantive clause in the oil and gas lease and is the provision that says essentially that the mineral owner grants and leases the property to the oil company for the purposes of drilling. This video will provide a brief review of the granting clause found in an oil and gas lease and discuss how this is the clause that establishes the relationship between the landowner and the oil company.
