Modifications, Concerns and Guidelines for Electronic Health Records

Modifications, concerns and guidelines are all a part of maintaining electronic health records. Electronic health records have greater access and changes may be difficult to detect. Regardless if there are addendums, amendments, corrections, etc…, you must have detailed auditing capability in the electronic health record. Users must be trained for accurate authentication and audits must be conducted to verify proper access and usage. If this 25-minute video our speaker, Jim Sheldon-Dean, reviews required steps to amend electronic health records, acting on acceptance and denial of amendments, and wraps up the video with a discussion on the HITECH Act and electronic health records.
