Usually people want to aim for the shortest elimination period, which is the shortest amount of time that your client would need to be in a nursing home before the insurance would start to pay. However, the shorter the amount of time, the higher the cost will be. Each client needs to weigh their options carefully before purchasing long-term care insurance so it is worth it in the end.
