Interplay of PTO Policies With Other Laws

 
One of the prime categories of a successful PTO policy is making sure that you comply with applicable law. In this video our speaker, Amy Nixon, reviews wage and hour law, including salary issues, intermittent leave issues and salary basis for exemption. She also discusses the Family and Medical Leave Law and discipline for absenteeism, compelling exhaustion of PTO benefits, PTO policies and intermittent leave issues. Ms. Nixon wraps up the video by reviewing laws pertaining to reasonable accommodation of disabilities, and additional laws that may be on the horizon. As a result, employers with qualifying federal contracts must ensure that their PTO policy can comply with the new requirement.
