Compensation Economics

Why does compensation matter? And what are compensation economics? According to a recent workforce and engagement survey, CFOs were asked their perception on why employees leave and employees were asked why they pursue other opportunities. The clear, top response was due to inadequate salary and benefits. Salary is often one of the largest operating expenses in any organization so it is important to make compensation decisions based on data.

In this video our speaker, Amber Duncan, SPHR, takes you through a high level review of what market competitive compensation looks like. She discusses the supply and demand of labor, the effective of minimum wage, the rebounding economy and the shift in demand for labor.
