Code § 170(a) permits an income tax deduction for gifts of cash or other property to or for the use of a qualified organization. However, under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, there were some changes and contributions in exchange for option to purchase athletic tickets are no longer able to be an income tax deduction. This video reviews the different types of charitable deductions and discusses limits on individual income tax deductions based on adjusted gross income and charitable and non-cash contributions.
