How do you plan for labor shortages?
How can we proactively engage in the necessary efforts to address the labor shortage conditions? Example efforts to partially alleviate repercussions of labor shortage conditions include modifying the contract language to include escalation, force majeure clauses, and better-drafted labor-related contract provisions; as well as including reasonable assumptions for labor and material costs in the bid period. Some may develop workers’ cross-training programs to create a diversified workforce; as well as develop and maintain workforce stability and improve working conditions. This video reviews how to plan for labor shortage and provides additional examples to alleviate repercussions.
