Vermont's New Paid Sick Leave Law: What You Need to Know

Make sure you are in compliance with Vermont’s new paid sick leave law. Many employers, particularly multi-state employers, are being asked to comply with a number of paid sick leave laws containing different requirements that are popping up in jurisdictions throughout the United States. For other employers, this is the first time that they will have to implement one of the new paid sick leave laws. This topic helps the persons responsible for paid sick leave at the company understand the basic requirements of Vermont’s paid sick leave law, how Vermont’s law differs from other jurisdictions, and how to implement paid sick leave in a manner that complies with Vermont’s new law. The topic also explains some of the common issues facing employers with PTO policies that now have to comply with Vermont’s paid sick leave law. Failing to properly implement the new law can subject employers to litigation and penalties. As a result, this topic is critical for employers so they can ensure that they are complying with all aspects of the new law.
