Navigate the minefields of California procurement code and public contracting.
This presentation will provide an in-depth discussion of contracting issues impacting public entities. The intersections of public contract codes, government codes, and labor codes will be evaluated for risk. Contracting options, public-private partnerships, competitive bidding, and bid selection alternatives will also be discussed. Required public contracting provisions, payment schemes, scheduling, and recordkeeping requirements will be covered, inclusive of professional services contracting. Licensing requirements, bid protests, and best practices to prevent and manage any ensuing disputes and litigation will be analyzed. More importantly, this presentation will identify various chronological signposts where securing early legal advice on public construction contracting and project management activities is critical.
