Understanding Alabama Public Contracts and Procurement Regulations

Discover how to navigate the minefields of procurement code and public contracting in Alabama with ease.

This topic will focus on the major features of the Alabama Public Works Law-Title 39 (procurement of construction contracts) and the Alabama Competitive Bid Law-Title 41 (procurement of goods and services by state and local authorities), including, but not limited to, describing the circumstances when bidding is required, describing how to comply with the applicable bidding requirements, and the consequences of the failure to follow the correct procedures. This material will be of particular interest to employees of state, local and other public bodies who participate in the procurement of public contracts, contractors/vendors who compete for these contracts, and attorneys who represent clients in this area.
