In the highly competitive construction industry, saying "no" can be difficult whether it be when considering a job to bid or contractor to hire, agreeing to an overly aggressive schedule or reduced budget, accepting changes in scope or closing out a project. This topic will explore why "yes" is often perceived as a preferred option and risks to be aware of that might warrant a "no" during the construction life cycle phases: bid, pre-construction, construction and close out.
