Understand the common issue of hoarding and the ways in which this issue can be properly handled to avoid further complications.
Landlords are faced with many real property issues. Hoarding tenants can create additional challenges. For instance, a landlord may need to take action to ensure the health and safety of the occupants and protect the integrity of the structure. While doing this, the landlord may need to navigate complex state and federal fair housing laws that protect certain individuals and require the landlord to afford the tenant certain accommodations. Addressing hoarding tenants isn't easy and should be dealt with in a prompt and reasonable manner. This topic will make landlords aware of both the remedies afforded to landlords and the rights and accommodations that may be afforded to tenants when attempting to deal with a hoarding tenant. There may be adverse consequences and liability if the landlord does not honor these rights and fails to comply with the fair housing laws. The information will provide familiarity with the common issue of hoarding and the ways in which this issue can be properly handled to avoid further complications.
