Companies are frequently faced with employee overtime lawsuits based on the Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state and local laws. Frequently, wage and hour claims are brought on behalf of a class or a collective basis, which can multiply the scope of the litigation. If successful, employees may be able to recover unpaid wages, liquidated damages, other penalties, interest, and attorneys' fees and costs. This course will provide you with an overview of the federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and assist you in understanding best practices to avoid these claims.
