Gain a better understanding of the role and mandate of the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General in oversight and enforcement.
New York State's Medicaid program can feel like a maze even for the most experienced of healthcare compliance officers. This program will offer a path forward by focusing on the core elements of high-functioning healthcare compliance programs; the unique attributes of provider types that must have them; and the role and mandate of the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General in oversight and enforcement. The topic will address proposed rule language that stands substantially to affect OMIG's mandate, so that participants can be prepared to respond to those changes and bring their compliance programs into alignment. (Further background may be found here: https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/proposed-rulemaking-on-medicaid-program-6629911/.) The course will appeal most readily to healthcare providers who deliver services in New York State through the Medicaid program, and the legal and compliance officers in those organizations responsible for implementing and updating attendant compliance programs.
