Stay up to date with the current issues regarding the Fair Housing Act and ADA.
Multifamily owners and managers are required to comply with a wide spectrum of requirements under the Federal Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act. These requirements range from construction and design requirements to screening of potential applicants. Unfortunately, there have been a number of lawsuits brought by the United States, advocacy groups and individuals with disabilities challenging the manner in which the needs of disabled residents are met. This course will give an overview of the major issues of FHA and ADA compliance with a focus on hot topics and trends in lawsuits. After attending, you will be able to review your company's screening policies to determine if they comply with the FHA.
