Current Hot Topics in Sign Regulation: Balancing Planning and Legal Objectives Post-Reed v. Town of Gilbert

 
Learn about current issues and complexities in sign regulation post-Reed v. Town of Gilbert. The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Reed v. Town of Gilbert has become a bellwether for how quickly local governments can encounter problems when they regulate signs without regard to constitutional free speech protections. The case law governing the intersection of police power and first amendment free speech rights is rapidly evolving.
