Vic Sher is Principal and Founder of Vic Sher Law, and is Of Counsel to Sher Leff, LLP (which he co-founded and was chief litigator from 2003 - 2012). Vic has litigated innovative environmental cases for over 35 years and has spent more than a decade practicing with Earthjustice, a nonprofit, public interest environmental law firm, including four years as its president.
During his tenure with Earthjustice, he litigated many landmark cases under the Endangered Species Act and other environmental laws; The American Lawyer called his lawsuits to protect the northern spotted owl, salmon, and other species among the “most important public lands management litigation in this country’s history”; The ABA Journal noted that his lawsuits caused a “dramatic new direction in forest policy” for tens of millions of acres of federal forests, “forcing an end to business as usual”.
He is a writer of many publications related to environmental law, and conducts frequent seminars and workshops in the field. Vic was named a 2011 LawDragon 500 lawyer; in 2011, was a Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Finalist; Northern California Super Lawyer since 2005.
