James Vines is the Environmental, Health and Safety partner in the Atlanta office of King & Spalding, LLP, heading up the firm’s Health & Safety sub-group. Jim’s practice emphasizes all aspects of EH&S focusing on crisis management, environmental compliance, environmental management systems, domestic safety and health (OSHA) and international health and safety matters.
Jim conducts regular seminars and workshops on EHS risk management. He is a former United States Attorney. Jim was a Law Clerk, Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, Supreme Court of the United States (OT 1989); Hon. Robert R. Merhige, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
He is a Bar member: Georgia, Tennessee, Washington, D.C.; U.S. Attorney General’s advisory sub-committees on environmental issues, counter-terrorism, and computer hacking and intellectual property crimes. Jim holds a J.D. degree, Washington and Lee University; B.S. degree, Washington and Lee University.
