Mr. Dorsey is the Owner of James Dorsey, PLS, land and boundary consultant where the firm specializes in complex boundary matters and title conflicts. He has more than 50 years of experience in boundary and title matters. Mr. Dorsey serves as an expert witness in both state and federal courts. He also is frequent speaker on boundary, titles matters and land descriptions throughout the U.S.. Mr. Dorsey wrote, “Insuring Wetlands” and co-wrote, “A Study of Title Problems on Swamp and Overflowed Problems," both copyrighted by SAFECO Title Insurance Co.. Mr. Dorsey served as Deputy County Surveyor for Clark County, NV, where he headed the Development Revue Section where it was a combined group of Land Surveyors, Planners and Land Agents where he managed a one shop program to process subdivision mapping. Mr. Dorsey is named in Who’s Who in California and World Wide.
Mr. Dorsey has taught "Contemporary Boundary Retracement and Un-Written Property Rights" for the University of California, Riverside, "Legal Aspects of Land Surveying" and "The Fundamentals of Land Surveying" for the Surveying Degree Program at the Community College of Southern Nevada.
He was the Land Surveyor Member of the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors where he became the Land Surveyor to be elected President of the Board.
