Online Training for Enrolled Agents
Enrolled Agents are certified and licensed tax practitioners who can represent taxpayers before the IRS for tax collection, audits, appeals and other tax procedures. The Department of Treasury grants an EA practitioner unlimited rights to prepare and submit tax returns for individuals and businesses.
The government is giving a lot of incentives for citizens and businesses to submit returns in a bid to increase the tax net. This has led to an increase in the demand for Enrolling Agents in recent years.
Training Required for Enrolling Agents
The IRS does not mandate for an enrolled agent to be qualified with a bachelor’s degree. However, formal education in taxation and knowledge of the tax law is a prerequisite. An enrolled agent can start the practice after passing an exam called the Special Enrollment Examination (SEE). They must also complete other requirements of the profession such as continuing education.
Online Training for Enrolled Agents
Enrolled Agents are similar to Certified Public Accountants because both of them review financial statements and prepare tax returns for filing with the authorities. The main difference is that Enrolled Agents are more experienced in matters related to taxation and representing a client in front of the tax authorities.
CPAs on the other hand are responsible for reporting a company’s financial position to the shareholders filing reports to the SEC as well as reporting to the tax authorities.
The courses designed for online training of Enrolled Agents are similar to the educational training of accountants and tax consultants. The course normally includes:
- Tax Preparation
