Kansas is home to one of the most prestigious universities for architects in the country. Kansas State University offers interdisciplinary landscape architecture degree programs, including Master’s degree programs. Obtaining a solid education in architecture and gaining field experience is a solid start for an architectural career, but all architects licensed in the state of Kansas must meet certain requirements for license renewal. One of these requirements is continuing education.
In Kansas, architects can meet license renewal requirements by completing at least 30 hours of continuing education credits, which must include Professional Development hours. For license renewal, continuing education requirements must be completed by June 30. For architects with last names starting from A through L, June 30 of every even-numbered year is the deadline. For all others, the deadline is June 30 of odd-numbered years. In addition, AIA members must complete 18 hours of continuing education each year to continue membership. Other professional organizations and associations may have additional training requirements as well.
