What Is PHR Certification?
The HRCI’s Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is a widely recognized benchmark that demonstrates “mastery of the technical and operational aspects of HR practices and U.S. laws and regulations.” Certification is open to any professional with:
- A Master’s degree or higher and at least one year of experience as an HR professional
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience as an HR professional
- A high school diploma and at least four years of experience as an HR professional
Professionals who meet these criteria are eligible to sit for the three-hour, multiple choice exam. If you pass the exam, your certification is valid for a period of three years, after which you must either retake the test or demonstrate completion of at least 60 approved recertification credits.
