Live Webinars or OnDemand
Earning your California MCLE credits can be done in a couple different ways. Choose to take our live webinars which are live presentations where you can not only earn CA MCLE but you get to ask live questions and interact with the faculty. You can also choose to earn your CA MCLE by taking one of our ondemand courses. Ondemand courses are recorded webinars that can be taken anytime with an internet connection. Choose to take the course in the comfort of your own office, home or favorite vacation spot. Earning CA MCLE online has never been easier.

CA MCLE State Requirements:
25 hours per reporting period (3years)
Deadline: January 31st
Special Requirement(s):
4 hours of Legal Ethics
2 hours of Competence Issues including the following: A minimum of 1 hour on "Prevention and Detection Competence" and an optional hour focused on wellness education
2 hours in the Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society (1 hour minimum in the area of Implicit Bias)
1 hour of Technology in the Practice of Law credit
1 hour of Civility in the Legal Profession credit
Reporting date:
February 1 - California attorney membership is divided into 3 compliance groups by last name:
Group 1 (A-G);
Group 2 (H-M); and
Group 3 (N-Z).
Each group is up for compliance every 3 years.
Credit hour:
60 minutes. Divide the total length of the program in minutes by 60 and round to the nearest quarter hour.
Limit on credit hours for self-study:
Attorneys must earn 12.5 credit hours through activities qualified for participatory credit (or one half of their proportional requirement). The remainder (up to 12.5 hours) can be earned through self-study.
Lorman Education Services Certificates:
Certificates of attendance for Live webinars are available to download in the Courses section of your account dashboard within a couple business days after the course date. An email is sent to notify you that the certificate is available to download. Ondemand certificates are available to download in the Courses section of your account dashboard within 15 minutes.
Attendance Reporting:
Attorneys are responsible for tracking their CLE credit and reporting compliance to the State Bar of California at the end of the reporting period as needed. Lorman Education Services live webinars and ondemand courses are considered participatory. MP3 audio courses are also considered participatory but ONLY if the CLE codes are provided (otherwise they are self-study).
