Continuing professional education is a worthwhile investment for any accounting professional. In Kentucky, CPE is a requirement for maintaining your registration with the state Board of Accountancy. More importantly, however, it’s a way of improving the caliber of service you offer your clients. Training courses that respect the value of CPE — rather than simply meeting your compliance requirements — can help you save your clients money, manage risk more effectively and position yourself for ongoing professional success.
That’s where Lorman Education Services comes in. We have helped more than 1.4 million professionals upgrade their training through value-packed live webinars, archived courses and other self-study options. We offer online CPE credits for Kentucky CPAs who want to take their careers to the next level. Browse our extensive catalog using the links below.
CPE Requirements in Kentucky
Kentucky CPE requirements are based on the number of hours worked and the nature of your employment over the course of a two-year period:
- CPAs who worked for 3000 hours or more in a public accounting firm must complete a minimum of 80 credits, with 2.0 of them in a topic related to professional ethics.
- CPAs who worked less than 3000 hours in a public accounting firm must complete a minimum of 60 credits, of which 2.0 must be in professional ethics.
- Accountants working in industry, education or government are required to complete at least 60 credits, 2.0 of which must be related to ethics.
Any of Lormans continuing education courses can qualify for Kentucky CPE credit so long as it meets the requirements set out by the State Board of Accountancy.
